Begging For Closure
“Can I ask why you’ve chosen to close your account?”
“It’s too hard to navigate the menus to get to the close account option. I don’t want to have a card that’s that difficult to cancel.”
“Well how about…. [thinking]. Uhm. How about if I give you a coupon for…”

I’ve been there with B of A. Long process including forms to fill and exit interview to close account.
Q: Reason for closure?
A: “You are taking money from me every month for non-use of the account.”

I have decided that I am going to make up some nonsensical reason to close every account I ever have to close in the future, and adamantly defend it.

How about “I don’t like the font you use on my statements”
or maybe “Voices in my head told me to.”
or even “I didn’t expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition!” …
