Political Doublespeak
My favorite phrase bandied about in this election season is “Energy Independence”. It’s my favorite because it represents a cause we can all get behind, even though we completely disagree on what cause it is.
When Democrats say it, they mean “Living like Hippies”, and when Republicans say it, they mean “Oil Company Profits”.
It’s the new “Support the Troops”.
