Body: Remove Michael Jackson’s Thriller from playlist. Urge to dance in office is overpowering. Coworkers unsettled.

Correction: Leave Thriller alone; Start a revolution in your office and just get up and do the dance!

The other day I saw a rather distinguished looking older gentleman sitting and watching a Michael Jackson video with every evidence of enjoyment. I was pleased.
But speaking of ipods, why did you choose one, Ian? I heard you had compared various players, so what made that the choice? (I’m currently trying to make that decision myself)

Like everything else that’s Apple, you pay a premium for it, but it’s a delight to use. I’ve read dozens of reviews and seen lots of players, and nothing else is just as compact, simple, and nice to use as the iPod.

    Plus they’re pretty.

And I hear that the new ones that just came out have a longer battery life than mine (up to 12 from about 8 or 9)

Yeah, 8 or 9 unless you’re using the radio transmitter. Then it’s 1 or 2. I finally ponied up the $20 (twenty bucks!) for the cigarette adapter though.

Other than that, I love my iPod. You might also want to look at the iRivier H140 and H120 though. They put out a pretty decent player as well, and with out the Apple premium.

Better for office revolution: bring in boom box and blast Thriller (Or some like pop icon’s music. When I got to work for my fisrt day today, they were blasting Madonna. It was scary and intriguing at the same time.).

I just ordered the cigarette adapter today. I also got me a spiffy silicon case so that I won’t keep scratching the screen.

iPod sounds fun. Michael Jackson’s Thriller hard to beat for dance boogy in your bones. I’m for the revolution myself. Are there no other dancers there?
