Do Not Taunt Spam Karma

Posted in General at 2:05 pm by Ian

So, I forgot to modify one of the comment files to include the ultra secret identifying information Spam Karma expects to see from a legitimate comment. For some reason, this didn’t keep me from posting (probably because I was logged in as administrator), but it led to this rather humorous back and forth between Adam and a filter that was increasingly convinced of his evil intentions. It reminds me of that scene in Robocop where the middling executive is repeatedly ordered to drop his weapon after he has already done so, and is eventually treated with about six pounds of lead.

Which is why, once again, you should all breathe a sigh of relief that this blog is not loaded.

Well it trashed one of my comments 🙂 Just because it had the word ‘porn’ in it. Didn’t even give me a chance to look at one of those word text thingies.

For those concerned, I only used Adam’s “email address” in plaintext because I know it’s not real. I wouldn’t ever put yours up here.

Wow… your blog has a vendetta against me 😛 the funny part is that the second time I spelled out ‘porn’ in the appropriate html entities in hopes to bypass the filter.

  2. Ian said,

Yeah… it weights that even higher, because who spells out html codes except people trying to get past filters.

  3. Adam said,

Mmm good point, I suppose I should have thought of that.
