Just Haggling Over The Price

Posted in General at 3:15 pm by Ian

Ok, I resisted for a long time, but according to Wired, these foks are legit. I signed up with them and I signed up for a free Rhapsody trial. It took about 5 minutes. I figure that’s a fair investment on a chance at free hardware.

But, just to sweeten the deal: Help me get a Free Mac Mini, and if it does work, I send you $20.

OK. I’ll do it. But do I have to sign up for the free Mac Mini offer in order to give you credit, or can I sign up for, say, a free iPod Photo? Also, does an “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine,” system work, i.e., can you sign up for my offer once I’ve signed up for yours?

I don’t know about the first one. See if there’s an FAQ on their website. And I seriously doubt it on the second one. Otherwise 10 people could just get together and all get free computers.

Also, note that it can take 15 days for “credit” for the completed offer to show up. So don’t worry if it keeps asking you to sign up for other stuff. You only have to sign up for one.

Well, I figure, worst case scenario, I am no worse than when I started off. Second worst, I get $20. Third worst, I get a Mac Mini, and hey, I might just get something I want.

By the way, Real are total bitches as usual. You have to call 866-563-6157 to cancel. It took me about 20 minutes to find that phone number.

  6. Ian said,

It only took 5 to cancel, though.
