John finished the banana and left the peel on top of a small pile of discarded food packaging, then thought better of it. He fished the banana peel and a beer can out of the rubbish pile, laid the beer can on its side, and split the loose edges of the banana peel into finer strips. Scoring the top of the peel with his thumb to make eyes, he wrapped the banana peel around the beer can, and placed it on the arm of the sofa. He surveyed his objet d’arte and was pleased.
