The Greater Fool

Coffee made with Sprite instead of water tastes terrible, by the way.

You may be wondering why I was stupid enough to make coffee with Sprite.

I was not. Linda made it.

I was merely stupid enough to try drinking it.

I don’t know, drinking coffee made with Sprite instead of water sounds like an offer I wouldn’t refuse, if only because it makes for a good blog post.

    Mitch Hedburg had a bit:

“They say that Sprite is lemon and lime. But I tried to make it at home, and there’s more to it than that.”

The missing ingredient is evil. And carbonation. But mostly evil.

At work we use a fair amount of chemical calibration standards for pH, conductivity, and the like. Earlier this year I had misplaced my coffee cup, wanted some tea, and decided that I could just substitute a freshly cleaned beaker. Needless to say that when you have two beakers of light redish liquid, it’s easy to mix them up.

Hence, I tried to calibrate our equipment with burbon riobos tea, and took a nice swig of pH 10 calibration standard.

This is the life of a project technician.

Is there any chance you filmed this episode in your life and put it up on youtube?

Alas, no. But there could be an argument made for setting up digicam in the corner of my cubicle to capture just such moments…

    I’m all for it.
